Melanie Madeira is a lifelong resident of Northeast PA and would be honored to represent the people of the 114th district in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

Raised in Trucksville, Melanie graduated from Dallas High School then Kutztown University with a degree in Elementary Education.

She and her husband, David, live in Moosic and have been married for 22 years. Together they have six children: Hannah, D.J., Michaela, Anthony, Nicholas, and Lindsey.

As a wife, educator and working mom, Melanie’s felt the pain of losing her home during the economic downturn. She moved her children across the state to keep her family together when her husband finally found work in Pittsburgh. She’s not afraid to get her hands dirty, taking a job cleaning hotel rooms to put food on the table, and seized the opportunity to teach their children the value of hard work, instead of government assistance, in pursuit of the American dream. Through good times and bad, she’s proven that she will do whatever it takes to make the future brighter. And now she’s ready to do the same for us.

Through the trials of personal experience, Melanie understands the importance of bringing family-sustaining jobs to Lackawanna County. Like you, Melanie wants to strengthen our community and believes that fostering a healthy economic environment is the key to ensuring that our area is a great place to live, work and raise a family. She is tired of Harrisburg’s broken promises and will fight to make Lackawanna County a priority.

Melanie most recently worked as a Content Writer for Live Mercury, a full service digital agency that develops online marketing strategies for new and established businesses.

She is very concerned about the fundamental transformation that America is undergoing and has been involved in public advocacy for our Constitutionally protected rights for decades.

Recently she was a guest on Terry Martin's Make a Change Radio Show and you can listen to her inspiring life story here:
